Step 5: Your Report
       
A Journey to Maya Country

Introduction

   Now that you have collected your evidence, evaluated it, analyzed it, and drawn your conclusions, it is time to prepare your report for the Final Product.  This product will be completed in two sections:

  • a written narrative summarizing your discoveries and conclusions, and

  • a media presentation highlighting the information contained in your written narrative

   The requirements for each of these sections will be explained in detail by your teacher, but the general requirements are listed below.

Written Narrative 

  • Title Page with a title, your name, class period, and date

  • 3-page minimum length, excluding Title Page and Sources Page

  • Arial font, 1' margins on all sides

  • Introduction

  • Body

  • Conclusion

  • Sources Page(s); [Websites: name of source and URL;
       Text Material: Title, Author, Publisher, Date Published]

Media Presentation 

  • Title Page with a title, your name, class period, and date

  • 20-slide minimum length, excluding Title Page and Sources Page

  • 5-minute minimum presentation time;  15-minute maximum

  • 10 picture minimum 

  • "Bells and Whistles" must be appropriate to the material and kept in good taste

  • Backgrounds and music must be appropriate and not distracting

  • Text should be summaries kept to a minimum; maximum of 25-30 words per slide recommended

  • Sources Page(s); [Websites: name of source and URL;
       Text Material: Title, Author, Publisher, Date Published]

   Your teacher may modify the above requirements to fit the time period allotted for the webquest.


   Congratulations!  Your internship has almost come to an end.  Now all you have to do is return to the States where the universities and archaeology societies are eagerly awaiting your report!  

   But, first you should head back to Headquarters and meet with your Expedition Leader.
