| Introduction
|
One of the most important things to learn about
archaeology is the value of working in
teams. Since you will be working
with a partner during your internship, you
will need to learn to work together.
Effective teamwork:
-
makes
your job easier (two heads are better
than one)
-
allows
you to get more work done
-
brings
people of various abilities
together
-
allows
you to brainstorm and collaborate on
ideas
-
provides
a checks and balance system
-
protects
the integrity of your work
So,
pick your partners, hop in your jeep, and
head to Expedition Headquarters for your
orientation session!

Orientation
Headquarters
Welcome to our
Headquarters! Your Expedition Leader
will ask you to view various media
presentations about the Maya and make
written materials available for you to
read. It is essential that you pay
close attention, take careful
notes, and
study those notes in case the leader asks
you about what you learned!
There will be times during
your internship that you will be asked to
return to Headquarters for more background
information. It's part of the job!
